Healed by Faith: 18 Years Cancer Free from One Touch of His Garment

Eighteen years ago, I sat in a room waiting for results that would either confirm my worst fears or bring unexpected news.

The cancer should have been everywhere. But it wasn’t.

It was nowhere.

The PET scan came back clean—completely, shockingly clean.

And just like that, my healing was confirmed.
But my faith knew it long before the scan ever did.

I Was Healed by Jesus

When I got the news, I wept with gratitude. I emailed everyone who had been praying. I called my closest family and friends. There was so much joy and relief in that moment—like breathing for the first time after holding my breath for months.

That night, my dear friend Jody and I planned a Praise Party in my garage. Yep, in true grassroots style, we turned that garage into holy ground. Many of the older saints from our church came, along with a few close friends and family. We worshipped and We celebrated. We rejoiced in the miraculous work of God.

But not everyone joined in.

Some family members didn’t come. ...

Who is Laurie

Uncategorized Dec 12, 2024

I often get the question, “What exactly do you do?”

Well, that is a loaded question as most women know :-). First I am a wife to my handsome hubby Tom. We have been married 18 years and have 2 beautiful children. We enjoy hiking, snuggling, and traveling.

I am a mama to those 2 beautiful children. My son, Carter, is 24, married to my sweet daughter-in-law Caley for 2 years, has his piano tuning and repair business, is a musician, County Supervisor (just elected), and helps a friend farm on the side. Karina is my beautiful 16-year-old girl who lives and breathes anything equine. She has 2 horses (planning on a 3rd) and has many plans to build her equine empire in the future. Both of them (and my DIL) are amazing and I couldn’t be more proud of them or love them more.

I have also been a homeschooling mom for the past 16 years and wouldn’t trade that for anything!!  Ask me anything you want about homeschooling, as I would do it all over again!  I plan to do a whole podcast series on ho...

What is Neuro Nutrient Therapy?

Uncategorized Dec 12, 2024

Our brain is a very multifaceted and complex organ and needs a wide variety of nutrients to function optimally.

Given the brain controls every function of our body, fundamental nutrition to rebuild and support the brain is vital for optimal recovery from a wide variety of illnesses and mental health challenges.  As I have worked with clients over the years, I have found nearly 100% percent struggle with energy, sleep problems, anxiety, depression, food cravings, and other mood-related issues.

Neuro-Nutrient Therapy (also known as Amino Acid Therapy) helps you take back your brain and thrive in your life.

As much as I would like my clients to “follow a healthy diet”, I have found unhealthy carb addiction can overwhelm your attempt at self-control. These intense cravings make it nearly impossible for many people to stick to the fundamental nourishing foods they need and desire.  Neuro-Nutrient therapy can quickly eliminate these cravings for cheap, dead food. Then they can help r...

Top 5 Things Anyone Can Do Immediately to Change Their Health

Uncategorized Dec 12, 2024

Our bodies were created to thrive with the right nutrition, movement, and environment.

If you are struggling to know what you can do to improve your health today, start doing these 5 things and you will see an almost immediate improvement in your health.

  1.  Stop drinking soda pop: When I say stop drinking Soda Pop…I mean diet AND regular pop.  Studies have shown that drinking 1 soda a day can increase liver fat by 150%, especially if these are sweetened with high-fructose corn syrup. When the liver becomes fatty, the body’s ability to detox diminishes as well as the ability to regulate proper blood sugar levels.  Give filtered water at try!  It is really good for you J.

  2.  Cut out all processed sugars: Processed sugar is 800% sweeter than what is found in nature. These process sugars cause inflammation in the body and significantly contribute to heart disease, cancer, diabetes, and auto-immune conditions.  Stick with honey, maple syrup, and stevia.

  3.  Cut out all processed oils like s...

Our Second Brain

Uncategorized Dec 12, 2024

Let’s go over some basics of the digestive system as I have had quite a few questions recently pertaining to how can your gut affect your brain and emotions.

Approximately 80% of your immune system is located in your gut, as well as your stomach and digestive system is called your second brain. Have you ever had a gut ache when you are nervous or stressed? This is because nearly every chemical that controls the brain is also located in the stomach region, including hormones and neurotransmitters such as Serotonin, Dopamine, Glutamate, GABA, and Norepinephrine. The gut contains 100+ million neurons – this is more than the spinal cord!  So when you are dealing with depression, anxiety, ADD, phobias and etc… you must address digestive health. I have yet to see a client with digestive issues who doesn’t also suffer from at least one of the following: depression, anxiety, OCD, learning challenges, sleeplessness, chronic fatigue and so much more. The Lord made our bodies work together. The ...

Chronic Exhaustion Part 2 - Am I Lazy or Crazy

Uncategorized Dec 12, 2024

Previously, we discussed what adrenal fatigue was and 5 simple steps to help strengthen your adrenals.  Now I would like to address the connection be low thyroid and adrenal fatigue.

If you have an underactive thyroid AND adrenal fatigue, you literally may think you are lazy or crazy!

Remember, the adrenal glands influence all major physiological processes:  hormone regulation, utilization of carbs and fats, normal blood sugar regulation as well as cardio and GI function. The thyroid gland is also an endocrine gland, which is located in the front of our necks. It stores and produces hormones that affect the function of virtually every organ in our bodies.  Sounds similar to the adrenals, doesn’t it? Given that information, one can begin to understand why adrenal dysfunction may contribute to thyroid dysfunction. Since the thyroid is also a major regulator of our hormones, it is imperative to support your thyroid while addressing adrenal fatigue.

Many symptoms of adrenal fatigue ar...

Chronic Exhaustion Part 1 - Am I Just Lazy or Crazy

Uncategorized Dec 12, 2024

No, you are most likely not lazy or crazy!  Have you ever heard of adrenal fatigue?

Adrenal fatigue is the decreased ability of your adrenal glands to carry out their normal God-given function, which is to help your body cope and respond to all the stresses in your life-(physical, chemical, or emotional).

You have a small, yet mighty, walnut-sized adrenal gland sitting on top of each of your kidneys.  Adrenal hormones influence all major physiological processes.  You cannot live without your adrenal glands, so you need to learn how to take care of them and recognize when they are dysfunctional.

The most common symptom of adrenal fatigue or hypoadrenia, is true, fatigue. This type of fatigue happens when stress (-(physical, chemical, or emotional) exceeds your body’s capacity to respond to that particular or a combination of stresses. Too much chronic stress causes a reduction in the secretion of adrenal hormones, particularly cortisol. The extreme end of hyponatremia is Addison’s Di...

Good Bugs in your Gut

Uncategorized Dec 12, 2024

When my daughter was 5 she was dutifully taking her nutritional supplements and inquired what they were. I explained their purpose and one of them happened to be a “probiotic”.

Inquisitively she asked, “What is a probiotic.”  I told her she was putting good “bugs” in her tummy that helped to fight the “bad” bugs and to keep her tummy from hurting.

Of course, that answer prompted a long discussion of good and bad tummy bugs and why we need them.  Several weeks later her tummy wasn’t feeling so well and she was grumpy she says to me, “Mom, I think I need some more of those good bugs in my tummy.”  Very cute and encouraging that she made the gut-brain connection in her developing mind.

So now we know probiotics are good bugs for your gut (tummy). You may be thinking, “Why on earth do I need to put good bugs in my gut?  Aren’t they already in there?” Well, yes and no. Last month I mentioned in my article, “Healing the Gut and Autism”, that every chemical which controls the brain is al...

God Used My Eating Disorder For Greatness

Uncategorized Mar 22, 2022

If you've ever heard me talk, you've heard me speak about how balancing my brain with amino acids ended my struggles with a lifelong eating disorder. However, what you've never heard is how God used that same eating disorder to launch this Prayer & Fasting Retreat.

About 4 years ago, I was well into living a ketogenic lifestyle and some intermittent fasting, however I had never done an extended fast because I was always told if I did 'my eating disorder would come back'. However, God had different plans & began to reveal to me in scripture our call as Christians for fasting & prayer. One day after spending some time reflecting on His Word, I knew in my heart God was telling me to enter into a longer fast, AND that I would be ok, that my eating disorder would not return.

I joined the Fasting for a Purpose group & entered into a 5 day water fast. Yes, it was difficult physically but WOW! was it powerful. With the communal support of the group, through meditation on God's word & t...
